Cath Caldwell is Senior Lecturer on the Academic Enhancement Model project at Central Saint Martins (CSM).
Here is my brief biog:
Recently Stage 1 Leader on BA Graphic Communication Design and teaching editorial design for print and digital. Currently working in and enhancement role across all design and arts courses, as the Academic Enhancement Model Lead.
Cath recently completed a three year role at the University of the Arts, as Academic Coordinator for Careers and Employability and worked on the Creative Attributes Framework (See UAL research into the pedagogy of employability) for the Higher Education Academy.
She has just finished an MA research project into perceptions of change in HE and is also doing research into social enterprise in art and design and is working with CSM Fashion Public on a women’s refuge project.
Cath is author of three books, one will be out in July 2019 and the second about Editorial Design for Lawrence King, which was exhibited at CSM and the third was Winning Portfolios for Quarto. She is a former editorial art director, (Conde Nast in NYC and at Hearst as Design Director for ELLE UK) and still supports editorial design through her educational practice. Cath co-founded the UK’s Editorial Designers Organisation (a non-profit design network) and has been invited to judge the UK’s BSME Rising Star awards twice and was recently nominated for a CSM teaching award. For more details see Academic.edu, LinkedIn profile or Twitter account.
